The ladies of CTG joined for their January 2009 meeting and were able to share an exceptionally special time together. Change Through Giving celebrated its first birthday! Wow, how amazing it was to look back at a year full of challenges, hard work and accomplishments. By joining forces, we were able to accomplish more than any of us could have imagined. What a wonderful and special group of women! We had a great time reflecting on the memories from the prior year and were inspired and motivated as we discussed our goals for the New Year. Most of all though, we were able to celebrate with a little (or a lot for some!) birthday cake!
Other than discovering our passion and advocacy for organizations and causes across the globe and in our own backyard, we were able to learn a lot about what it takes to become a non-profit. There is paperwork and rules to follow, a lot of time, money, late nights and hard work, but most of all, we found out firsthand what it feels like to make a difference in so many people’s lives and for so many different reasons. We were able to utilize individual talents and skills to help other non-profits, and we were able to use a little good ole’ elbow grease for others. All in all, the ladies of Change Through Giving were able to support such causes as Dress for Success, Safe House of Seminole County, Harbor House of Orlando, Westminster Care of Delaney Park, the United States Troops, Love Letters, the Central Florida SPCA, the H.O.P.E. organization’s Sonshine Food Pantry, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Stay tuned for more. We’re not stopping there. We are proud to continue on and create more change through giving in 2010!
